About
Intro
I'm Asfand—Pakistan-born, US-based. I work in global growth product because I like problems where the answer depends on both a spreadsheet and a hallway conversation.
I pay attention to where teams rush past definition: the word everyone uses as if it means the same thing, and usually does not.
How I work
I start from how people run into the problem, then let evidence bend the plan. If we cannot name what should change in the world, numbers only decorate the deck—and I have sat through enough of those rooms.
I bias toward fewer parallel bets, sharper ownership, and reviews that end with a decision. Motion is easy; sequencing is not.
Away from the desk
I lift regularly, travel when I can, and log a heavy AMC A-List year—often 40+ films. Museums fill a lot of weekends.
That is not a hobby slide. It is where I remind myself that people experience products the way they experience a room: unevenly, with patience limits they rarely announce.
- National park days built around light and mileage, not a trophy photo
- Monuments when I want the story baked into a place—not a caption
- Landscape work as a slow index of where my attention actually was
